Ingredients

For the Wings
  • 2 pounds chicken wings, fresh or thawed Fresh chicken wings yield the best texture.
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (use extra virgin for flavor)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1-2 teaspoons hot sauce (optional for added heat)
For the Sauce (if desired)
  • ½ cup buffalo sauce (choose your favorite brand)
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter (use unsalted for better control over saltiness)

Method

Preparation
  1. Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels to ensure a crispier exterior.
  2. In a large bowl, toss the wings with olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, sea salt, black pepper, and optional hot sauce until evenly coated.
Cooking
  1. Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 5 minutes.
  2. Arrange the wings in a single layer in the air fryer basket, ensuring they are not overcrowded.
  3. Cook for approximately 25-30 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through for even cooking.
  4. The wings are done when they are golden brown and crispy.
Saucing and Serving
  1. If using the sauce, mix the buffalo sauce with melted butter in a separate bowl.
  2. Transfer the cooked wings to the sauce and toss until fully coated.
  3. Return them to the air fryer for an additional 3-5 minutes to adhere the sauce.
  4. Remove the wings from the air fryer and serve hot.

Notes

For extra crispy wings, increase the cooking time by 5-10 minutes. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days. You can freeze cooked wings for up to a month.
