Ingredients
  

For the Cookies
  • 2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour Ensure it's fresh for the best texture.
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Use high-quality butter for richer flavor.
  • 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
  • 2 pieces eggs Room temperature for better emulsification.
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
For the Topping
  • chocolate kisses or chocolate morsels Use milk or dark chocolate, based on preference.
  • colored frosting or sprinkles Choose your favorite colors for decoration.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt until well combined.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter and granulated sugar with an electric mixer for 2-3 minutes.
  4. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then mix in the vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until you have a thick, doughy consistency.
  6. Scoop teaspoonfuls of dough and shape them into balls. Place them on an ungreased baking sheet.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for about 8-10 minutes until the edges are golden.
  2. Immediately press a chocolate kiss into the center of each cookie after removing from the oven.
  3. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Decoration
  1. Once cooled, use colored frosting and sprinkles to embellish the cookies.

Notes

Store the cookies in an airtight container for up to a week. Freezing the cookie dough balls beforehand allows you to bake directly from frozen.
