Ingredients
  

For the Cake
  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted Opt for high-quality butter for best results.
  • 2 cans (21 oz each) apple pie filling Thick filling is recommended.
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
For the Caramel
  • 1 cup caramel sauce Store-bought or homemade.
Optional Toppings
  • vanilla ice cream Best served warm.
  • whipped cream
  • chopped nuts (like pecans or walnuts) For added crunch.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with cooking spray or butter.
  3. Spread the apple pie filling evenly on the bottom of your greased dish and sprinkle ground cinnamon over it.
  4. In a bowl, combine the yellow cake mix and melted butter; stir until well blended, resembling moist crumbs.
  5. Evenly sprinkle the cake mix over the apple filling.
  6. Pour the caramel sauce evenly over the top of the cake mix.
Baking
  1. Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for about 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the filling is bubbling.
Serving
  1. Allow the dump cake to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy it warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.

Notes

Experiment with flavors by adding a pinch of nutmeg or using different fruit fillings. Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 5 days or freeze for up to 3 months. Can be made gluten-free by using a gluten-free cake mix.
