Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large bowl, combine the potatoes, sliced smoked sausage, and ranch seasoning mix. Stir until well-coated.
- Spread the mixture in an even layer in a greased baking dish.
- Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for about 30 minutes.
Baking
- After 30 minutes, remove the foil and stir the mixture.
- Add the shredded cheese and sour cream, mixing well.
- Return the dish to the oven, uncovered, and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until potatoes are tender and cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
For added crunch, top with breadcrumbs or crushed crackers during the last 5 minutes of baking. Experiment with different types of smoked sausage or add bell peppers or onions for extra flavor. Serve with Greek yogurt or chives for freshness.
