Ingredients

For the Pie Crust
  • 1.5 cups graham cracker crumbs (for a classic taste)
  • 0.5 cups unsweetened cocoa powder (adds rich flavor)
  • 0.33 cups granulated sugar
  • 0.5 cups unsalted butter, melted (for binding)
For the Chocolate Filling
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (the star of the show!)
  • 2 cups heavy cream (for creamy texture)
  • 0.33 cups granulated sugar
  • 0.25 cups cornstarch (to help set the filling)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for aroma)
  • 1 pinch salt
For the Topping
  • Whipped cream (optional but highly recommended)
  • Chocolate shavings or curls (for garnish)

Method

Preparation
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine graham cracker crumbs, cocoa powder, sugar, and melted butter. Mix until the mixture resembles wet sand.
  2. Press it firmly into the bottom and up the sides of a 9-inch pie pan.
  3. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 10-12 minutes until set. Allow to cool completely.
Making the Chocolate Filling
  1. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, whisk together 1 cup of heavy cream, sugar, cornstarch, and salt.
  2. Keep stirring until the mixture thickens and begins to bubble, about 3-5 minutes.
  3. Remove the saucepan from heat, pour in the chocolate chips, and stir until completely melted and smooth.
  4. Stir in the vanilla extract and let it cool slightly.
Combining Ingredients
  1. In a separate bowl, whip the remaining 1 cup of heavy cream until soft peaks form.
  2. Gently fold the whipped cream into the chocolate mixture until well combined.
Filling the Crust
  1. Pour the chocolate filling into the cooled pie crust, smoothing the top with a spatula.
  2. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or until the filling is set.
Serving
  1. Once set, garnish the top with whipped cream and chocolate shavings.
  2. Slice and enjoy your delicious pie!
