  • 4 fillets halibut fillets (6 oz each) Choose high-quality, fresh halibut for the best flavor.
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 lemon, sliced (for garnish)
For the Herb Butter Sauce
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh dill, chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 Juice of 1 lemon
  • 1 Zest of 1 lemon

Preparation
  1. Preheat the Oven: Set your oven to 400°F (200°C) and let it preheat fully.
  2. Prepare the Baking Dish: Lightly grease a baking dish with olive oil to prevent sticking.
  3. Season the Fish: Pat the halibut fillets dry with paper towels. Rub them with olive oil and season generously with salt and pepper on both sides.
  4. Arrange the Fillets: Place the seasoned halibut fillets in the greased baking dish, skin side down if applicable.
Cooking
  1. Make the Herb Butter Sauce: In a small saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Stir in the minced garlic, parsley, dill, lemon juice, and lemon zest. Allow it to simmer for about 2-3 minutes until fragrant.
  2. Pour the Sauce: Drizzle the herb butter sauce evenly over the halibut fillets, ensuring each piece is well-coated.
  3. Bake the Halibut: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 12-15 minutes until the fish flakes easily with a fork.
  4. Garnish and Serve: Remove the halibut from the oven and garnish with fresh lemon slices on top before serving.

Notes

Serve with steamed veggies or a light salad. For added spice, include red pepper flakes in the herb butter. Leftovers can be refrigerated for up to 2 days.
