Preparation
- Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- Core and slice the apples into thin fries, about ¼ inch thick.
- In a large bowl, toss the apple slices with cornstarch, sugar, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt until evenly coated.
- Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray or drizzle olive oil.
- Place the seasoned apple fries in a single layer in the air fryer basket, avoiding overcrowding.
Cooking
- Air fry the apple slices for about 10-12 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through.
- Once golden brown and crispy, remove the apple fries from the air fryer and let them cool for a couple of minutes.
Serving
- Drizzle caramel or chocolate sauce over the apple fries and sprinkle with chopped nuts if desired. Serve warm.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to two days. Reheat in the air fryer at 350°F (175°C) for a few minutes to regain crispiness. For a vegan option, omit caramel sauce or choose a vegan alternative.
