Preparation
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
- Add the ground beef, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, or until the beef is browned and cooked through. Drain excess fat if necessary.
- Stir in the chopped onion and bell pepper. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are softened.
- In a separate bowl, blend together the ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
- Pour this mixture into the skillet with the beef and vegetables. Stir well to combine all the ingredients.
- Lower the heat and let the mixture simmer for about 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.
- Remove the skillet from heat and sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the top. Cover and let the residual heat melt the cheese for about 3-5 minutes.
- Finally, sprinkle fresh parsley or scallions over the dip before serving. Enjoy warm with tortilla chips, crackers, or fresh veggies.
Notes
For quality, choose fresh ingredients. Feel free to substitute ground turkey or a plant-based meat for a healthier or vegetarian alternative. Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
