Ingredients

Dry ingredients
  • 1.5 cups granulated sugar
  • 0.75 cup all-purpose flour
  • 0.67 cup cocoa powder, sifted if lumpy
  • 0.5 cup powdered sugar, sifted if lumpy
  • 0.5 cup dark chocolate chips
  • 3/4 teaspoon sea salt
Wet ingredients
  • 2 large eggs
  • 0.5 cup canola oil or extra-virgin olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 0.5 teaspoon vanilla

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F (160°C). Lightly spray an 8×8 baking dish with cooking spray and line it with parchment paper. Then spray the parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, mix together the granulated sugar, all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, powdered sugar, dark chocolate chips, and sea salt.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk the eggs, oil, water, and vanilla together until well combined.
  4. Sprinkle the dry mixture over the wet mixture. Stir until just combined; be careful not to overmix.
  5. Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
Baking
  1. Bake for 40 to 48 minutes. The brownies are done when a toothpick comes out with only a few crumbs attached.
  2. Let the brownies cool completely in the pan before slicing.

Notes

To keep your brownies fresh, store them in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days. For longer storage, freeze them after wrapping well to prevent freezer burn. For serving, try adding a scoop of vanilla ice cream, dusting with powdered sugar, or drizzling with chocolate sauce.
