Ingredients

For the Crust
  • 1 pre-made pie crust 1 pre-made pie crust (store-bought or homemade) If you prefer a gluten-free option, use a gluten-free pie crust.
For the Filling
  • 6 large eggs 6 large eggs Fresh ingredients yield the best flavor.
  • 1 cup 1 cup heavy cream For a lighter option, you can substitute with half-and-half.
  • 1 cup 1 cup shredded Gruyère cheese Use high-quality cheese for the best flavor.
  • 1 cup 1 cup cooked and crumbled bacon Ensure bacon is cooked thoroughly to avoid a watery mixture.
  • 1/2 cup 1/2 cup chopped green onions
  • to taste Salt and pepper to taste

Method

Preparation
  1. If using a store-bought pie crust, carefully unroll and fit it into a 7-inch pie dish. Prick the bottom with a fork to prevent puffing.
  2. Set your air fryer to 320°F (160°C) and let it preheat while you prepare the filling.
Filling Preparation
  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, heavy cream, salt, and pepper until well combined and fluffy.
  2. Stir in the shredded Gruyère cheese, crumbled bacon, and chopped green onions, mixing thoroughly.
Assembly and Cooking
  1. Pour the egg mixture into the prepared pie crust, ensuring an even distribution of fillings.
  2. Carefully place the quiche in the air fryer basket. Cook at 320°F (160°C) for about 25-30 minutes, or until the filling is set and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Serving
  1. Once done, let the quiche cool for a few minutes before slicing. This will help the quiche set further.

Notes

Use fresh herbs like thyme or parsley for added flavor. You can also replace bacon with sautéed mushrooms and spinach for a vegetarian option. Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to three days and reheated in the air fryer at 300°F (150°C) for 5-10 minutes.
