  • 1 cup cream cheese (softened) High-quality cream cheese recommended.
  • ½ cup sour cream Can substitute with Greek yogurt for a lighter option.
  • ½ cup mayonnaise Can substitute with Greek yogurt for a lighter option.
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese Feel free to experiment with different cheeses.
  • 2 tablespoons hot sauce Adjust to taste.
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper To taste.
For Garnish
  • 2 tablespoons fresh cilantro (chopped)
  • 1 green onion (sliced)

Method

Preparation
  1. In a medium-sized skillet over medium heat, cook the shrimp until they turn pink and opaque, about 3-4 minutes. Season with salt and pepper, and then let them cool.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, sour cream, and mayonnaise. Stir until smooth and creamy.
  3. Add the shredded cheddar cheese, hot sauce, lemon juice, garlic powder, and onion powder to the mixture. Mix well until fully blended.
  4. Chop the cooked shrimp into bite-sized pieces and gently fold them into the creamy mixture.
  5. Taste the dip and add more hot sauce, salt, or pepper to your liking.
  6. Cover the bowl and allow the dip to chill in the refrigerator for at least an hour to meld the flavors.
  7. Just before serving, give the dip a good stir and top with freshly chopped cilantro and green onions.

Notes

For an extra layer of flavor, consider adding diced jalapeños for additional heat. Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to three days. Reheat gently in the microwave before serving.
