Ingredients
  

For the Ribs
  • 2 racks racks of baby back ribs (about 2.5 pounds each) Select high-quality ribs for best flavor.
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste Enhances the flavor of the meat.
For the Dry Rub
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon mustard powder
For the Barbecue Sauce
  • 1 cup of your favorite barbecue sauce Store-bought or homemade.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
  2. Rinse the ribs under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels.
  3. Remove the silver skin from the back of the ribs.
  4. Season the ribs with salt and black pepper.
  5. In a small bowl, mix together all the dry rub ingredients until well combined.
  6. Generously apply the dry rub mixture over both sides of the ribs.
  7. Wrap each rack of ribs tightly in aluminum foil.
  8. Place the wrapped ribs on a baking sheet.
Cooking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 2.5 to 3 hours, or until the meat is tender.
  2. Remove the ribs from the oven and carefully unwrap the foil.
  3. Brush a generous layer of barbecue sauce all over the ribs.
  4. Switch your oven to broil, and place the uncovered ribs back in for about 5-10 minutes, until the sauce caramelizes.
  5. Remove from the oven, let rest for a few minutes, then slice between the bones and serve hot.

Notes

Do not rush the cooking time to ensure tenderness. Experiment with flavors in the rub. Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days or frozen for up to 3 months.
