Ingredients

For the Praline Crunch
  • 2 cups mixed nuts (pecans, almonds, and walnuts) Choose high-quality nuts for the best flavor.
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter Can be substituted with coconut oil for a dairy-free option.
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
For Optional Toppings
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon For a warm flavor twist.
  • Sea salt flakes For a salty-sweet contrast.

Method

Preparation
  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
  2. In a dry skillet over medium heat, toast the mixed nuts for about 5-6 minutes. Stir frequently until they are fragrant and lightly browned.
Cooking
  1. In a medium saucepan, combine the sugar, butter, water, vanilla extract, and salt. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until the mixture comes to a boil.
  2. Allow the mixture to boil without stirring for an additional 4-5 minutes, or until it turns a deep amber color.
  3. Remove the saucepan from the heat and carefully stir the toasted nuts into the sugar mixture. Mix thoroughly to ensure all nuts are evenly coated.
  4. Quickly transfer the nut mixture onto the prepared baking sheet, spreading it out into an even layer.
  5. Let it cool for about 30 minutes or until it sets hard. Once cooled, break it into clusters or pieces of your desired size.
  6. Store your Praline Crunch in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two weeks.

Notes

Experiment with flavors: Try adding cinnamon, nutmeg, or even a splash of maple syrup for a flavor twist. For a nut-free option, substitute nuts with seeds such as sunflower seeds or pumpkin seeds.
