Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan, or line it with parchment paper for easier removal.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar until well combined.
- In another bowl, beat together the milk, oil or butter, and eggs until you have a smooth mixture. If you’re using add-ins like banana or additional flavorings, mix them in now.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Stir gently until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
- Fold in any optional ingredients like nuts or chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
Baking
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
- Bake for 45 to 55 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Once baked, remove the bread from the oven and let it sit in the pan for about 10 minutes. Then, transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
Notes
Use fresh baking powder and good-quality ingredients for best flavor. You may freeze leftovers, wrapped tightly for up to 3 months. Experiment by adding citrus zest for a refreshing twist. For a gluten-free option, use a gluten-free flour blend.
