For the Cabbage Steaks
  • 1 medium head green cabbage Use fresh cabbage for the best flavor.
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil Feel free to substitute with melted butter for a richer taste.
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
For the Topping (Optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder Add for extra flavor.
  • 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika Adds a smoky touch.
  • 1 slices lemon For serving.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Remove the outer leaves of the cabbage and slice it into 1-inch thick steaks.
  3. Place the cabbage steaks on a lined baking sheet, drizzle with olive oil, and season with salt and pepper. If using, sprinkle garlic powder and smoked paprika on top.
Cooking
  1. Roast in the preheated oven for about 25–30 minutes, flipping halfway through until the edges are crispy and the center is tender.
Serving
  1. Remove from the oven and serve warm, garnished with lemon wedges.

Notes

Feel free to experiment with different spices like chili powder or Parmesan for extra flavor. For optimal texture, avoid overcooking and store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days.
