Ingredients

For the Chicken
  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning Adjust for spice preference
  • Salt and pepper to taste
For the Pasta
  • 8 ounces your favorite pasta (penne or fettuccine works well)
  • Salt for pasta water
For the Sauce
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • ¼ teaspoon paprika for a smoky flavor
  • Chopped parsley, for garnish

Method

Cooking the Pasta
  1. Start by bringing a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add your pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve ½ cup of pasta water, then drain and set aside.
Cooking the Chicken
  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, add the chicken pieces. Season with the Cajun seasoning, salt, and pepper. Cook until the chicken is golden brown and cooked through, about 6-8 minutes. Use a meat thermometer to ensure it reaches an internal temperature of 165°F. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
Preparing the Sauce
  1. In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium-low heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant. Stir in the honey, heavy cream, and paprika. Bring the sauce to a gentle simmer and let it thicken for about 3 minutes.
Combining Everything
  1. Add the cooked pasta and chicken back into the skillet. If the sauce is too thick, add a bit of the reserved pasta water to reach your desired consistency. Stir well to coat everything evenly.
Serving
  1. Remove from heat and garnish with chopped parsley. Serve hot and enjoy the delightful flavors!

Notes

Choose fresh ingredients for the best flavor; consider making your Cajun seasoning blend if time allows. For a healthier version, you can substitute the heavy cream with half-and-half or a dairy-free alternative. Customize the spice level by adjusting the amount of Cajun seasoning based on your spice tolerance. You can also add vegetables for extra nutrition and color.
